present for mom
On a recent fishing excursion that my three men went on they decided to bring mom back a little present, since I was left home to clean. No not pretty flowers or some nice fish to cook for diner, a baby snapping turtle. "Isnt she cute", "we call her snappy", "can we keep her" , "we found her swimming by the boat" were the words being hurtled at me while the youngest looked for a bowl to put her in and the oldest looked for bugs to feed her. This was the habitat that was created for snappy, rocks to sit on, grass with the roots still on to hide behind and peices of dead bugs for her to eat, all put in moms big glass mixing bowl. Great present guys and yes she is cute, for now, but I think it has escaped your attention that someday soon she will be big, ugly, mean, and full of attitude and soul purpose in life to snap on to something and never let go. So for the sake of fingers, toes, and paws, she was able to spend the night being fawned over, told how cute she was, and told by the youngest that if she every sees us again be nice were friends, then taken back to where she belonged to live out her days doing what snapping turtles do, crossing roads (just kidding but that seems to be the only place we have realy ever seen them)

O is she ever cute.it reminds me of times we would see them on the road and try to save them from getting run over.Id go and take them by the tail and put them across the road.but be warned they can get hold of you and put some magor hurt on you if you dont do it right.I use to watch my Dad handle them he had many in our basement he would catch them and sell them.
but I agree with the boys they are soooo cute when little.
God bless have a great week.and thanks for coming up to the cabin with me.it was great.
Anna,
Turtle are fun to watch. I went out to Roswell a few days ago and walked along Victory Creek, the creek is full of turtles, some of them are huge. I'm not sure what kind they are. I couldn't get a good look at them - or any pics. They were resting on top of rocks and trees that had fallen over into the creek. At the slightest noise (humans talking, etc..) they would jump back into the water.
Good pic of the baby turtle (and the sunset)!
LeAnn I remember us saving quite a few and I remember the poor little painted turtle with the cracked shell poor thing, wonder if he made it..
Debrorah thank you for stopping by and comments are always appreciated, turtles are fun to watch I remember taking my 8 year old to a zoo once and there was an old turtle that was big enough for him to ride on I think we spent a good half hour with that turtle (not riding just observing)
Very cute! and I think I would've made them put her back as well. Aren't kids great? They bring you presents and lots of joy too. Take care and hope to talk to you soon.
