Sin posse!
Found this article the other day while helping our youngest do an assignment for his catechism class. The assignment was to check out other forms of religion and find out how there views differ from ours on matters like baptism and sin. This is something from the Baptist church that we came across and got a good laugh. Not sure if this is true or just something to get a good laugh over but we thought it seemed like a good idea. Don't you think we could all use a good beating over the head every now and again, I know I could. And I know a few people I would love to see get beat over the head. I'm not a violent person I just know the effects of sin, so I quess if gettin walloped a good one tell you cry out to the Lord is what it takes then I'm all for it. Wallop away I say. To bad the group got dispersed....

yes we could use these guys now in this day and age.if there were some of these guys now maybe this world would stop being so messed up.
I guess maybe the Lord thought the church would be the moral compus in the world but some christians sin as much as sinners do some times.
its been said thatthe porn rentals go up 100 % when christian conferances are in other towns.makes one wonder what they are thinking.so they are in another town,do they not think God can see them?
one day we all will answer for the crap we thoght we were hiding.

Landover Baptist Church has been catching heat for years - just like Westboro Baptist Church.
These churches are not 'Baptist' - I question if they are even religious. For if they were truely Christians, they would 'act as Christians' and not set judgments against people's soul.
Christ said, "Judge not lest ye be judged."
Christ was a teacher and healer. He 'disciplined' his followers through wisdom, perfect representation of the scriptures, and by way of personal example - not by brute force or hateful tongue lashings - or worse.
Sin Posse, indeed...I think that they should learn to be more humble.

I agree with how you feel about porn. But do you know what? I feel the porn business is on its way out. It's getting too big and too bold.
Last week, Dekalb Co. officials started a 'team' to bust prostitution that is going on on Craig's list. In Dekalb Co alone, the officer said that as many as 400 or more post each day. Figure that up for each Metro-Atlanta county. Alot of prostituting going on. The team is also posing as prostitutes and is intending to bust the ones who are answering the ads.
I think this goes a long way to say that people are just sick of it, that porn is out of hand.
I think that legal avenues are more helpful than 'sin posse's' -

some people dont even know how really bad it has become.
yes Jesus was all you say.and he did do things through the way you say.
but the truth is some people need to have their attention gotten before you can reach them.
when your kids are hooked on drugs or some thing else that could kill or harm then.do you sit back and do nothing and not judge?
no you do what it takes to help them see if they dont stop they will die.
and if they arent right with the Lord end in hell to boot.
some people only are religious,and that is the problem.
they have religion but no real relationship with Jesus.
they talk a good game but fall flat on their face when the truth comes out.
being religious dont get you into heaven,being born again and having a realionship with Jesus and being filled with his Holy spirit does.that alone brings change.
and if you remember Jesus said we would no them by their friut.so in a way he was saying you have to see what they are doing and judge the friut they bar.
and its real clear that some friut is rotten.
if you couldnt judge the diffrents between a sinner and one who is supposed to be born again then why be saved.
you could just as well just raise hell and go to heaven anyway.
well their is a diffrence and you can tell.Jesus said you could tell a person by his attactions.so if we can tell then we are to pray for the person.
its easy to tell a person who is sinning.
1.a drinker gets drunk.no problem there he is stummbling and smashing his car into inocent people and killing them.
should the law let him go and not judge him?surely not,even our law says we need to do something to help him and pertect others.
2. a whore,has sex with any man who asks her and pays her.
should we let her go on in our part of town and not judge her and stop her from doing this.
or shell we wait only till she trys to do it with your hubby?surely not.so we have laws to stop her and so does the Lord.
3.a child molester,molests childern.should we not judge him cause he harmed some poor child who will be harmed for life.surely not.
even our law judges him unsafe for being near others.so if the law says he needs help then the Lord says so to.and the Lord gives us a brains to know "hey we need to keep this person away from kids..."that is a common since judgement."
I could go on and on but I rest my case.if the law of the land is able to judge a law breaker how much more a christian no a sinner,or that he is sinning his self.
the point here is we judge our self frist and then we try to help others.
and if you read Anna,s post close again you will see she said we all can use alittle knock on the head now and then.
and as for porn or judging any one.
I judge my self, dear frist cause I use to be hooked on it my self till Jesus freed me.
so I know of what I speak.I do not cover over my sin,s I exposed them so the Lord could deliver me from them.
and so I could warn others of the harm this kind of thing does.or any sin for that matter.
as for your feeling that evil in any way is on its way out.
the devil is still alive and well and tempting humans just like he has always done,and will contiue to do so till "ALL" us christians learn our rights as children of God.
when will evil be gone?
when the church riases up and uses what Jesus did on the cross to drive his butt out.
cause Jesus broke his power 2000 years ago on the cross.but some churchs have been teaching that his power is gone and it only worked for the followers back when he walked the earth.they even say we cant take the bible for Gods own word.that men wrote it.
but the men were guided by Gods Spirit so yes He did write it.
people will believe books written by mear men now and take them as face value but will not believe the word of God.
how does God reach people?
ANY WAY HE IS ABLE.
God had a jackass talk to one man, cause the man was a jackass himself.
so the Lord figured the man would listen to one of his own.
God has a since of hummor.
and I love the way he reachs people.he reached me the way he had to.and I will forever be thankful.
he had two little pentcoustal people come to me and judge me as someone who needed Jesus in my life.
and I realized I was lost.so you see we can judge people cause a sinner shows up like a sore thumb.
and we as christians are to see and get busy to pray first and then to try to reach him or her before they split hell wide open.
being humle means we are to see our selves as if we are sinners saved by grace.
we know darn well we would be nothing with out what Jesus did for us.
well me and my family do see that,and to be very honest we know if it hadnt been for Jesus we would be hot footing it around forever in hell.we are nothing with out the Lord.
Jesus said save a person from going to hell,use any means you can.
and I believe it takes judging to see if in deed that person is in trouble.
you do not get into heaven by being a so called good person.you get into heaven by what Jesus did on the cross for us.
if I tick people off so be it.
I will not stand by and keep still if I see someone headed down the wrong road.
someone loved me enough to speak up and say some thing to me at the risk of offending me.and I will forever be thankful for the people.
so get a grip deborah,it was to show how people use to handle things years ago.thank God we have learned some things.but we got a long way baby to go...
when were you saved?I like to know how people were saved and when.would you share it with us?
I was saved or born again in dec 12th the year I was 20.in my own bedroom in a little house by the river.my baby Lucy was laying asleep in her cribb next to me and my hubby laying next to me.Jesus came into my heart when I asked him to.I have never been the same.he is my best friend.
Rosemary and keith are the two who told me I needed Jesus in my life.
I had sat in a luthern church for years gone to alln the things church goers go to and was still headed to hell.
so being baptized or comfuermend dont get you saved.and sitting in a church your whole life doesnt eather.cause my granny had done that,and she was still lost.so you see people can have religion and still be lost.
it was only after I asked the Lord into my life and heart that I finely was saved.
and shortly after the rest of my family came in one by one.
like the Lord says yee shell know the truth and it shell set you free.
am I perfect?no far from it,but I have a dear friend who is working with me to get me step by step to the person he intended me to be.and he will do it till the day I breath my last here.then Ill go to be with him.and hopefully Ill take a lot of others with me when I leave here.
and read about Jesus when he went into the temple and kicked the snot out of the money changers and the sellers.
and read about Paul when he got knocked off his horse on the way to demmascus.he was struck blind my dear and God had to send someone to restore his site.and who do you think knocked him off his horse,it was Jesus standing in frontof him.

at lest these posse people were doing some thing.they most have had the fear for these peoples souls.for thatI ggive them credit,and I am sure Jesus did to.
he uses our stupid trys for his glory.
Lord knows how zealous I was to get people saved when I was frist born again.I drove my family up the wall.but Jesus used my trys.and they are all at diffrent levels with the Lord.
God is able to work with his own kids.he knows how to get them in the right place so he can use them.

I respect both of your views, I really do thank you both for commenting I appreciate it.. The day we came accross this site we had, had a few serious discussions about religon and some of the issues going on in the world with our youngest that when this popped up we thought it was one of those mock sites they have out their. It brought alittle humor to our day and definnately got us thinking...
I love to hear other peoples veiws on such matters so thank you both again for your honesty...
